The project “Grant a Dream to a Child of a Hero”

This is an entertaining and cultural social project that has been taking place in Kovel for four years before Christams. It is implemented in collaboration with Ukrainian diaspora members from different countries. Over 150 children from Volyn families of affected participants in the armed conflict in the East of Ukriane received individual Christmas gifts, participated in workshops, and took part in entertainment and sports events.

“It may seem that children’s dreams are so ordinary, but there is so much meaning in these small things! By giving a doll and a chocolate bar to a child of a Hero, we express our gratitude and respect for the opportunity to celebrate the New Year and Christmas under peaceful skies!” mentioned Liudmyla Zubarieva, the project coordinator.

In 2017, the event was visited by a volunteer from the US Peace Corps Ukraine, Cassidy Cramton. She got acquainted with the children and taught them some American carols.
Each child received personalized gifts, and the hall was filled with a true Christmas and New Year’s fairy tale. The children couldn’t contain their excitement over the gifts they received, as their childhood dreams truly came true!
The organizing team of the “Grant a Dream to a Child of a Hero” project, by the NGO “Great Idea” and the Volyn Regional Center for Military-Patriotic Education “Volynska Sich,” expresses sincere gratitude to all the helpers of Santa Claus who made incredible efforts to create this holiday for the children of the Heroes!

We deal with
